Аннотация:
Девяностые годы ХХ столетия привели к изменениям в мировой геополитической стратегии: место Советского Союза, выступающего второй мировой сверхдержавой, постепенно прочно занимается Китайской народной республикой, которая еще тридцать лет назад могла рассчитывать на исключительно роль регионального лидера. Развитие международных торгово-экономических взаимоотношений между США и КНР наглядно демонстрирует в действии гегелевский «закон единства и борьбы противоположностей» - обе страны, имея различные политические системы и общественное устройство, вынуждены выступать основными партнерами как в мировой экономике, так и в торговле. Инициатива в развитии торгово-экономических отношениях с КНР пока находится в руках США, которые, несмотря на наличие новейших технологий и выдающихся экономических достижений, все-таки, вынуждены считаться с требованиями своего китайского партнера по налаживанию равноправных партнерских взаимоотношений, неся как материальные так и репутационные издержки. США, на протяжении всей истории американо-китайских отношений, часто используют провокации и недружественные акции. Непоследовательная позиция США, в первую очередь, по поддержке Тайваня, затрудняет взаимопонимание и установление доверия между странами.
