Аннотация:
В данной работе обсуждается дилемма, возникшая при разработке политики США в отношении Индии. В начале статьи представлен ретроспективный взгляд на американо-индийские отношения с момента прихода к власти Моди и прогнозного анализа политики в отношении Индии при правлении Байдена, чтобы показать, как изменилась точка зрения США на роль Индии в глобальных и региональных стратегиях США. В статье показано, что Китай является одной из ключевых внешних переменных, которая способствует отношениям между США и Индией. Вслед за обзором политики следует обсуждение стратегических оценок политики Индии, представленное американскими аналитиками и экспертами по Индии. Их можно разделить на два вида: «стратегический альтруизм» и «избирательное сотрудничество», каждая из которых представляет собой тип американо-индийских отношений. Посредством сравнения эти оценок в статье приходят к выводу о том, что Соединенные Штаты сталкиваются с проблемой при выработке политики в отношении Индии, поскольку американские политики не могут прийти к соглашению по фундаментальным вопросам, касающимся американо-индийских отношений.
